PBA South New Port Richey Open - Results, Report
{ 03-08-03 }
Earlier today I bowled in my second regional of the year. This one was held at Lane-Glo
Lanes in New Port Richey, FL. Lane-Glo Lanes is very well known throughout the bowling
community as a bowling "hot spot", as both Lane-Glo lanes host a variety
of well-known tournaments, and this regional event (New Port Richey has two different
Lane-Glo bowling centers, one on the South side of town and one on the North side
of town. We bowled at "South", as we usually do).
I bowled on "A" squad, and started on lanes 13 and 14. I had a good reaction
playing up 6-7 with a Columbia Ricochet, but threw it very bad, and scored a 145.
The second and third games I started to bowl better, but was only able to manage a
170 and a 174. In the fourth game, the pair started to break down pretty fast, so
I started moving left, and began to swing the track area more. I managed a 191. The
fifth game was bowled on the end pair of the house, which was on 43 and 44. I had
a great ball reaction, playing inside of the second arrow, but I left 2 opens for
a 187.
Games six and seven were my "experimentation" games, as I tried different
alignments to see what would work best. The fooling around worked for me in the last
game as I shot 240.
With the exception of games one and seven, I bowled somewhat respectable for me.
Take out those games and replace them with a pair of 190's and I finish around -60,
which would have been pretty good for me.
My next regional tournament will be Palm Coast, FL, at the end of this month. I am
bowling in a local tournament tomorrow, because I feel pretty good about my bowling
right now.
